One day in Melbourne

Finally got to use the internet. It's a like a precious commodity here cos' they charge so much for it.

anyway, I managed to switch to a direct flight to Melbourne which is well and good cos' I didn't have to go through Brisbane then. but that meant arriving super early in Melbourne and I couldn't check in and hence I just dozed off on the sofa for a while. The weather was a chilly 12 degrees. Didn't feel like SUMMER at all. It's even colder than wintry Hongkong.

After checking in, it was up and away to Queen Victoria Market. Pretty fun but then walking alone became quite boring after a while. So I headed to my favourite place - MELBOURNE PARK - HOME OF THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN!! and boy was I transfixed to the place. I just sat there on one of the show courts and watched some boys slug it out. It was mesmerising.. and the thought that some of the pros have played here before just strikes you. I sneaked into one of the courts..court 22 to get a feel of the surface. Wanted to be thick-skinned and ask one of the people there to let me hit a few shots but I didn't have the guts. sigh. hmmm anyway, one day I wanna come and watch the Australian Open live here. I can just imagine the atmosphere.

Thereafter, I headed down to a factory outlet road..a road full of factory outlet stores. But the things weren't cheap by any means. Oh yes, I'm gonna rant about how a bottle of coke costs almost 3 AUD in good old 7-11. The prices here are crazy lah. The cheapest mineral water is AUD 1.90 which is about 2.50 sing. yea, so I lived on bagels, bananas and an orange today. No mood to eat much anyway as I was trying to get rid of my cold. Ok back to the factory outlet..I bought nothing much, except some clothes for the cutest thing on earth (at least in my eyes) - my nephew.

In a few mins time, it'll be back to the backpackers room... and you know what, to my shock and horror, i woke up from my nap just now to find 3 ladies in the same room. so it's 2 guys and 3 ladies. Don't blame me cos' i asked for a male dorm..

the ladies must feel pretty insecure in a room with two guys. anyway i'll be outta here tomorrow morning. Better don't oversleep and miss my flight to Tassie!

I'm like really ranting cos' I'm allocated only 30 mins to use the terminal. haha.
