A long walk

When was the last time you took a long walk?

Recently, I discovered long walks can be therapeutic. Especially solitary ones. Walks on which I don't have my mp3 player on. When silence becomes the most alluring music and the hustle and bustle of the environment around me becomes forgotten. After a long and tiring day amidst bantering, laughing, talking, preaching, thinking... I am contented just to slip into oblivion on my solitary long walk, to become just another unknown face in the crowd, to be away from familiarity of people. Even the bus arrival system telling me my bus was coming in 3 mins time couldn't tempt me away from wanting to walk. And when the bus whisked past me, I felt like I had scored a personal victory. I had chosen to walk.

It's moments like these that give me the much needed relief I need, when I can just settle into talking mode with Jesus and my brain waves start to mellow down. No wonder the 4 old ladies at Lunarsee said as long as God allows them to, they will keep walking.

I ditto that anytime.
