Happened to witness this quite-comical scene at the drinks stall today.
A quite old lady (in her 60s?) who was selling the drinks asked a middle-aged man (in his 50s?) "UNCLE 要什么?" (UNCLE what you want?).
The man retorted with a fierce tone, "eh, NOT UNCLE, I don't know you, how can you call uncle."
another lady selling the drinks sensed the man's anger and said "solli ah, 他的english不好".
the man replied, "true right, I don't know you, how can you call uncle?"
The argument continued but i left the scene finding it quite comical, cos' judging from the man's face, I was pretty sure the man was peeved at having an older lady call him uncle.
lols. the stigma of uncle-hood. argh.
Life has its ups and downs. And when you feel the odds are against you, remember keep on smiling cos' with Christ in the vessel you CAN smile at any storm.
